Kimber Eclipse/Dan Wesson Bob-tail?

Hey all,
What's the general consensus of the Kimber Eclipse? I was toying with either getting one of those, a Bobtail 10mm Dan Wesson, or going the semi-custom route from Nowlin (since I've had great sucess with a 9x23W Nowlin).

What say you all about the fit/finish/quality of the Kimber or the DW?

I have similar problem.

How do you choose between a 10mm Eclipse and 10mm Stainless II.

The Eclipse looks a better, cost $200 more.

They are essentially the same gun, right?

The differences I have seen on the Eclipse is a checkered front strap and night sights, and the awesome 2-tone finish of course. ;f

Eclipse is sweet!
I looked at both.
No contest; got Eclipse.
The features are different.
Fixed vs adj sights.
Night sights.
etc.

I had a Stainless Target and LOVED it. It was a sweet pistol and I actually preferred the Target Adj. Sights. The finish is still really nice. my .02....

I own a Dan Wesson Commander in 45. I have 2 complaints, the biggest of which is I didn't wait for the 10mm bobtail to come out. The second issue is minor, because I plan on fixing it myself. The grip safety wasn't fit as well as I would like at the factory. It shouldn't take too long to fix and doesn't effect function at all.

Other than the above comments, the DW has been great out of the box. If I do buy another 10mm 1911 it will be a DW. I won't touch a Kimber with a 10 foot pole. Most of that is a personal bias I cannot completely explain.

I say get the Dan Wesson and don't look back.

Several years ago when I purchased my Colt M1991 the dealer also laid out two Kimbers to compare with. I will probably trade my G20 for a DW in 10mm.

Okay folks, going to make a plunge for a Dan Wesson PM7 10mm.

Everything I know about 1911's and everything I've read about Dan Wesson, the good AND the bad, the history, the other companies for comparison....extractor issues with each company ....etc etc..... i can give you one suggestion:

Go buy it. I think when I get a 1011 10mm again ....(I'm still recovering from my G20L project :))... I'll be getting either a DW PM7 or a DW RZ-10, whichever I can find.

ps.... you gotta post pictures and range reports, I hope you know that.
