View Full Version : M91/30 scopes ???
I see the original scope can be as much as $499.00.Plus mounting and new turn down bolt.
Does anyone have any idea how to scope one of these rifles any cheaper.Seems crazy to spend $500.00 to $700.00 to scope a $109.00 rifle.
Also what type of of M91/30 works best for scope mounting?

There are several sources of scope mounts for the Mosin Nagants that do not require a bent bolt. Here is a pic of my scoped M38.

Here is a pic of my recently scoped K31. I got the mount from the same place I got my mount for my M38. His name is Darrell Harrison.

InterOrdinance makes a fine reproduction PU sniper mount for the 91/30. The only difference is that it uses a modern weaver rail instead of the integrated scope rings. $65 plus scope rings and a scope. Mine works awesome with a 4x22 Burris scope!

I'm thinking about doing that to my '43 91/30...
How much did your groups improve with the glass? I get about a 3.5" group @ 100 yards right now from a rest...
Sharpshooter can you give us a link for that scope mount.I'm having trouble finding it on the web page.
Thank-you:)
This is the only mount I saw and it's priced to cheap to be the one you have.

I don't have a link. Interordinance sells them for about $65, at least that's how much I paid about 2 years ago.
With iron sights, this rifle shot about 1-2 inches at 100 yards with S&B 174gr BTHP ammo. I figured I just HAD to put a scope on this thing, so I did. Now it shoots less than one inch at 100 yards with a 3-shot group and using a 5 inch black Birchwood Casey target. I've done it many times in front of witnesses. It typically shoots about .6-.8 inch groups if I do my part. It's no bench rest gun, but that's good enough for me.
I just wish I reloaded so I don't have to buy that S&B ammo for $15/box. It's expensive compared to all the cheap Wolf and surplus, but it shoots DANG well.

Outdoormarksman.com has the S&B for an okay price. I've not put S&B through my 91/30 yet.. only the Polish surplus ;P I think I might research it more though ;f
