View Full Version : Day/Night/Day match December 3rd & 4th
I wasn’t able to make the annual day/night/day match last year. I hear great things about the match so I thought I’d add a posting.

I know I'm looking forward to it.
Just the other day I dragged out my bag full of "hot pouches" from WalMart. They've saved me in the past once the temps start falling at night.
I plan on shooting my S&W Model 24 with the Meprolights for the match. It's the only gun I own with night sights.
Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope we don't get an ice storm.
...mmm...........ice storm. Sounds like fun to me.

You are way too Gung Ho!
I bet you'd recognize that Mdl 24 I'm talking about. We missed you in Richmond yesterday, a great match.
I was looking for some results. Anything up yet? And yeah, I 'd recognize that 24. Now that's a man's gun!

Nothing up yet.
I'm surprised no one has started a thread. It was a good match, 15 mostly quick stages. Not the most revolver friendly match, lots of 9 and 7 shot stages. Not a big deal to me since I was not that serious about winning high overall.
As last year, another nice prize table. 3 or 4 springfield pistols, a 1911 and some SDs. A chrono, electric ears, kershaw and columbia knives. Of course Helme and Jeff came through with stacks of I-shot bags and digilights.
I won ESR Marksman against 4 competitors, which warmed my heart. (that's been a pet peave of mine all year. No competition)
Scores were slow coming out and it was past sundown when all the trophies were awarded. They rushed through the ceremonies and were not calling for promotions.
Against my better sandbagging spirit, I stepped up and volunteered to be promoted to SS.

Thought I would bump this thread back up to the top since the match is imminent.
Looks like cool weather ahead, but not freezing.
Not sure when the rain will start on Saturday, but Sunday looks like it will definately be wet.
HA!!!!
My first night match ever...and shooting a new gun to boot.
I made lots of new puppies.

I had most of my STP moments this morning. sigh
Still it was a great match, even if it was a bit of an endurance contest.
Compared to past D-N-D matchs, it was a spring day.
