I would like to start shooting USPSA this spring. I have decided to shoot a Glock but I am not sure witch Glock would be better the 21 or 35.

What division do you plan to shoot? I have a 21 and a 24, which is the 6" .40 Glock makes. The 24 has the same frame as your 35.
Between the two, I would say the 35 would be the most versatile. It can be shot in Production, Lim. 10, and Limited, if you wish. The 21 is a great pistol, but because it is a .45, it is more limited in magazine capacity compared to the .40 glocks. It would be most suited to Lim. 10, which is the division I shoot it in. I love my 24, though.
I see a lot of 35's at USPSA matches.

I suggest using a G34 in Production Category.;)

You can't go wrong with the 35.. you can shoot more divisions and not hamstring yourself by having to shoot minor if you move to L-10 or Limited with it.. 34's are nice but unless you can find a way to shoot major power factor out of it or if you just don't care then it's up to you..
But.. if you really like the 21 shoot that.. Shoot L-10 or Limited if you like, up to you really depends on how "competative" your looking to be.
The 35 is probably the most versitile though.
Good luck and good shooting.
Jeff.
PS: i use a 35 and have shot Production, L-10 and Limited with it already.

Thank you for all the input on the glocks. For the most part you have confirmed that the 35 is the best way to go. I certainly want to shoot major. That was why I had narrowed my choise to the 21 or 35 and was leaning more toward the 35.
The other thing is that I wanted something to carry in the woods when scouting and 9mm just does not have enough stopping power.
Just asking, what do you need to stop in Western Maryland that a 9mm couldn't do?

We have black bear, coyotes and it was been several reports that D.N.R. has relocated some wolf into our area.

The 35 will do it all in USPSA.
You need .40 in Limited to get enough magazine capacity in the USPSA length magazines (140mm) Can't do that with a 21.
If you use it for Production (MINOR power factor) then the .40 S&W licks less than the 9mm.
MD just recently added a bear hunting season (long over due). !st bear taken this year made the news as the proud hunter was an 8 year old girl.

While it hasn’t been asked I would consider getting a G20 since Arredondo does make magazines extensions for it and if you configure it for 40 S&W it would definitely be a softer shooter than the G35 or G22 with a Major PF load. The only drawback would be the grip size difference between the two models.

ryucasta, I beleive KKM makes a 40s&w barrel for the G20,also,i think i recall hearing that oal should be on the long side.

Glock-N-Fun,
You’re right KKM does make a barrel in 40S&W and 357 SIG for the G20. What I'm not sure of though is if they need to be loaded long like for a double stack 1911 from Para, STI or SV (40 S&W OAL of 1.190).

ryucasta,
Me either, haven't tried this mod,or personally know anyome who has,so i don't know what oal will make it run well, but i recall hearing oal was an issue to make them run dependably. Also,i have heard anything about changing the 10mm extractor to a 5 degree 40.
