Trigger polishing & corrosion resistance.

Does the $0.25 trigger job, or ANY trigger job for that matter, significantly decrease the corrosion resistance of the internal trigger parts? I'm about to do it on my Glock, but am now wondering if it will expose the bare metal and start my trigger bar etc rusting? Or is the steel itself stainless?

I'm also thinking of slicking up the trigger on a good'ol S&W SHTF revolver. What kind of internal parts finish would be recommended for polished contact surfaces that also resist corrosion?

I wouldn't worry about it to much,i've had polished trigger bars for a number of years without any corrosion,if you have any doughts,just wipe it with an oil cloth every month,but i wouldn't worry about it.

Not an issue, like all guns keep a very, light coat of oil on all metal parts and then wipe off the part with a rag. The polished parts are much easier to clean then unpolished, but I shoot a lot of lead so I have more to clean then usual.
