I was wondering if someone could help me out. It stopped doing it now, but a few days ago when I would dry fire my G20 it made a weird clang noise after I pulled the trigger. It was just a slight noise like a spring or something. Then when I would take it apart the firing pin was sticking out, it was not retracted into the pistol. This went on for about a day,I put it away and checked it today and it was no longer doing it. Does anyone know what it was doing? Thanks

You mean when you feild stripped it and took the barrel out it was protruding? thats normal and when you dry fire it and open the slide it should be protruding then too, once the trigger is depressed and the trigger bar pushes the firing pin saftey in the firing pin is free to move and does so according to gravity if the trigger is pulled and you point it down and open the slide itll be protruding if u dry fire it and hold it up and open the slide it wont be, it only retracts once u cycle the slide again and the trigger bar pulls the striker back, as for the noise hmmm they do make a pretty different noise to most other guns if you can really hear the spring like that then id guess that means its nice and clean and the spring is working fine, i once had that channel blocked really bad sounded really off when i dry fired it
well hope that helps
