View Full Version : Adjustable sights on a P89?
I'm looking at changing the rear sight on my P89. I'm consistantly low with it, but other than that I like the way it handles.
I can drift the sights, but that isn't needed as I'm dead on horizontally. Suggestions on what brand/where to buy would be great.
If there are other suggestions to fix this problem I'm willing to listen. I'm dead on with my glock, or S&W.

Have you added the Hogue grips to yours, I did to mine and they are great. Pops

PSI sight are fiber optic and adjustable. I have not personal experience with them but they are in my to do list for my P89. Google: PSI sight P89
I think the whole set runs ~89 or so.
Hope this helps
the ruger p89 was the first semi auto pistol i ever fired.man i was all over the paper back then.i had no idea how to shoot.i love how big and clunky it looks.very industrial.a machine to love!i really need to add one to my collection.
Was my first auto too. I have the same industrial/machine connotations as you. I still can't believe how accurate it is. Now that I've "upgraded" to the g34, I am still trying to replicate the groups I get with the p89, with no success.
Of course offhand shooting I am just as good if not better with the glock (if only because of the trigger and sight radius), but no way does it match the p89's mechanical accuracy at 25 yards rested (2" vs 2 1/2" best even after about twice as many tries with the 34). That thing even shoots as tight as my gp100 did at 25yds.
Highly underrated pistols, ruger p series. I don't even care about the weight and bulk. Love the sights too. The only reason I had to upgrade was because it's a DAO, and the trigger is a beast.
EDIT: if you are shooting low, filing the front sight a little bit will raise POI (as raising rear sight is not an option). If besides shooting low, you like the sights (I do), might be worth a try if would otherwise be replacing them anyways.
