View Full Version : Upgrade Kit for 2nd Generation pistol
Guys:
I just bought a used second generation 19 for of duty carry. What is all the fuss about the upgrade kit for the older 19īs like mine. It is really necessary to have it upgrade? Where can I order it and how many parts has to be change?
By the way mine carry pistol is a third generation 17, and I really love it. Help me here.....

I purchased a second generation Glock 19 at a gun show. following the instructions I found on this forum, I first contacted Glock in Georgia and shipped my gun to them via FedEx. In about 8 days I got it back and it's like a new gun! Both of my other Glocks,(a 19 and a 26), I had purchased as "Police rebuilds" from a gun shop and the outstanding quality was the same. While the latest 19 had been used extensivly before I got it there was really nothing wrong with it apart from the recoil spring being noticably "lighter" from use. It is worth the trouble in my experience as anything Glock finds worn they will take care of. Go Glock!

Aside from the purchase of the used Glock at the gunshow, I paid around $25.00 to FedEx to overnight ship the gun to Glock in Georgia,(Glock paid return overnight shipping.) The upgrade to the gun was FREE! They also sent me a pistol case with a manual and cleaning rod with brush. As mine was a 2nd Generation gun, I would contact Glock for more info as I'm not sure what they would do with a newer gun. Have your serial number handy for them when you call.
