I'm stoked, gonna be a fast truck too. We have a 96 model currently that's very similar but it only has a 350hp cummins diesel. This one is a 500hp cummins diesel. Joey 11-13-2005, 13:12 Did somebody mention fast:cool:   Our ALF will run 90mph uphill fully loaded on Interstate 80 into a headwind;f ;f ;f ;f ;f It's one heck of a screaming engine. Has the biggest cummins diesel that will fit onto the frame coupled with a allison tranie. Did I mention it's a screamer;e ;e ;e oldstyle 11-13-2005, 18:56 Fast DOES matter! Last night, we outraced the other responding ladder to a structure fire. They got stuck with RIT duty while we entered. In our old ALF Tower Ladder (RIP), we never won the race to this area but our little ladder scoots! Turk40SW 11-14-2005, 00:17 I got a new T-shirt in this week for the new truck.. "If you can read this, you must be second due" on the front it says.. "second to none" and we're station 2, now re-named to 13, but still called 2. JGinzo 11-18-2005, 18:45 But real fire engines are red. At least the ones I played with as a kid were! ;f Turk40SW 11-21-2005, 12:03 ya, it must suck keeping a white truck clean.. I came from departments with Chartreuse trucks. I still have an affinity for them, but I'm getting used to red.. kyfirefreak 11-23-2005, 19:57 Originally posted by JGinzo But real fire engines are red. Some said white, green, even blue, but The winner was " FIRETRUCKS ARE RED". Yep, they are all RED all right;f ;f ;f ;f ;f Joey 11-25-2005, 17:23 ;a ;a ;a ;a ;a ;a ;a ;a MiamiE 12-08-2005, 15:04 is that an ALS engine? Turk40SW 12-12-2005, 09:50 Update on our new pumper. On its way down from South Dakota for delivery to our outfitter, the driver WRECKED IT!!!!! Pulled in to pump gas and somehow ground the OIC side off of the pumper on the side of an 18 wheeler. So, its now back in South Dakota for replacement of screwed up parts. DAMNIT kyfirefreak 12-14-2005, 01:51 Damn that sucks, hopefully they'll make it well worth your extra wait. :) Turk40SW 01-09-2006, 13:42 Pumper's IN!!! man she's a beaut and fast as all getout too.. pics to come.. She went in service last night. Turk40SW 01-09-2006, 13:44 oh yeah, i don't like the LED's :( they don't appear bright enough in the daytime.. i think a combo of LED's and strobes would be better. although we've got some 750W Brow lights that kick BUTT! no more peering for addresses at night.. hit those suckers and the entire street in front of you looks like God hit the light switch. and the exterior mounted tank level lights are kick butt too.. Firemedic54 01-09-2006, 15:50 90 mph in a fire truck? No thanks, but you will add to some sad statistics one day. Also keep (RACING) another responding truck and one day you meet at the same intsection. Come on guys THINK about it these bigger, faster, heavier trucks don't stop like a compact car. It's perfectly fine to have pride in your station and equipment but some of you sound a little unsafe. Joey 01-09-2006, 19:26 Pictures, we want pictures;f ;f ;f ;f ;f Turk40SW 01-18-2006, 15:54 sorry guys.. i been real busy.. i'll try to get some this week.. I miss air ride trucks :( it rides like a bus.. but she's still a beaut. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
