Why is sight adjustment so hard?!

I have some Ameriglo operators and I can adjust them some with my b-square sight adjustment tool. Only thing is, it's difficult!! If I put the bit on the sight, it will marr it. I put a plastic guitar pick behind a dime (.10 USD) and it severely bent the dime and warped/cracked the guitar pick. Oh, it it barely, I mean barely moved...maybe a hair, literally. Should it be so difficult??

I put my Operators on using a wooden dowel and a hammer and noticed they were a tight fit but didn't have any problems putting them on.

Did you loosen the setscrew first?

I use the MGW sight tool for all the guns they manufacture them for. For the others I use a P-500 and use brass shims to prevent any marks on the sight, If your pusher tip has sharp edges you can chamfer them slightly, they should not dig into the sight
