Damnit man, my all time favorite carry load 165gr GDHP seated at 1.25 over 11.6grs of 800X. Wanted to do a reliablity test so I loaded up the 10rd mag and just blasted away as fast as I could. About the 8th round had a double feed and locked the gun up solid! The first rd caught on the feed ramp and the second rd was hung up in the extractor.
Oh well back to Hornady 155 XTP's I guess.

That bites, my29 jammed on me today with 155 gold dots, and TWICE in 20 rounds of silvertips I fired, the silde cycled and ejected a round, and fed the next round, but the trigger would not rearm. Thankfullythe 165goldensabers worked flawlessly(I shot them better also) so she's loadedup with those now
Sorry to here about your miss fortune guys. :(
I have yet to have a failure of any sort with my G29. It has swallowed every weight of Gold Dot, Golden Saber and XTP's with out a hiccup. Also enjoys the 175gr Silvertips with out a glitch.
Good luck in the future. ;)

Same here, no failures of any kind with any of the following bullet designs:
Gold Dot's
Golden Saber's
Nosler JHP's
XTP's
LWFN's
Ranger Talon's
FMJ's
Silvertip's
Starfire's
FWIW I carry Gold Dots. I hope I never have a lockup with them, as they are by far my favorite

PGH,
I have had the same luck (with the exception of higher powered reloads with the GDHP today) so shoot lots of them.
I am going to try and vary the OAL and see if I can get them to feed reliably in my G29 cause my G20 loves them. 1-2 inch groups during rapid fire @ 7rds!!
I dont give up easy...;f

Wow, your deep in frame crack territory there!
Don’t believe me? I cracked (2) G29 with much less and lighter bullets…
11.6grs wow, are you sure the primers aren’t falling out on the bench after shooting them…
Do you have any chrono data for those loads?
Are you using mag primers?

ronterry,
I worked up this load with a federal barrel and also a stock barrel.
sorry I don't own a Chono yet but it's movin!
And no I don't use mag primers with this load. If I do, on the stock barrel I start to get the smilies that I am not comfortable with.
Federal barrel no problems, and by the way I up to 11.8 for the G20 due to the KKM barrel and much better case support.
I started at 10grs and worked up from there getting my info from Mcnett's thread stating 155gr GDHP 12.3gr 800X - 1465fps (G20), 1578fps (6"KKM) (http://glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=179348) and dropped the MAX charge by .5gr due to using 165's instead 155grs.
I certainly wouldn't recommend this load without working it up in YOUR PARTICULAR FIREARM.

Interesting, I was picking primers up off the ground when shooting 11.0grs 800X/155gr GDHP/CCI-350/1.260 through my G20.
I chrono'ed those loads in the high 1400-low 1500fps through a KKM.
Crap I need to test my SD loads, which happens to be 165grs GDHP...
Might as well test 180gr GDHP this week as well...
I won't comment on what I shoot through my G29 till I get #3 back, but ussualy less then the G20 and certainly within SAAMI limits.
