Go to www.sksboards.com - they have a very active board that is geared towards the SKS mainly with other firearms filling in the fluff. Very good board for SKS information.
already there, thanks. just wanted a one stop shop.

SKS's rock. Here's my two Russians, both 1953. One is refurb, the other is not. Both have all the original goodies, but I swap out stocks etc just for fun.

Someone should open a vote thread for an SKS forum. I know I'd vote for one. PGH~

Personally, I wish all MilSurp rifles were in this forum. Too much other stuff to go through to get what I'm looking for.
I love this forum because I can get info on most of the cool MilSurp guns. Is the Kalishnakov considered MilSurp? I would think so.

I also think it would be. It was completed in '47 and adopted by the Russian Military in '49 if I remember correctly. I think any weapon military weapon made/used in the military befor 1960 should be considered a milsurplus. Just my .02.

That would make the AR15 military surplus as well....delivered for testing in 1958....first rifles when into service in 1962 so thats a few years over your 1960 mark but they were made before 1960.

Well then lets say any military weapon befor '58. The AR-15/M16 is in no way military surplus.

If Big 5 started selling AR-15s for $79, I'd buy them even if they're not really "military surplus". :)

The SKS is lumped in with the AK on the Kalashnikov Club since it's similar.
