Trigger question

HOW do you reduce the initial trigger travel(dead movement)?
Is there a way to greatly reduce the empty travel between the initial safety engagement and the point where the trigger actually starts to resist while loading up the striker for release. this is the most frustrating thing to get used to with this gun. I am a new Glock owner and have been used to shooting SIG and 1911's .

Thanks for the info very much... But i am a person that needs to see it to understand it. If you could show some pics of this mod it will help me to fully understand if this is something I can do or if I need to send this out to someone who knows more than me.
