There's a brand spanking new outdoor range Indiana's DNR just opened up so I took my brother-in-law and his 11 year old son shooting (the son for the first time).
Started off by explaining to my nephew the four rules of handling a firearm and showed him the proper hand grip and stance. Then had him start out with my Makarov at 7 yards, then my G19, then my G30. My brother-in-law brought his .357 magnum and loaded it with .38 Specials and a handful of magnums.
We then moved to the 50 yard range and had him shoot my SKS and AK. Couldn't believe where the time went but we were there for nearly five hours and I'm told his two older brothers are asking for some range time as well, hopefully before it gets too cold. All in all we had a great day at the range.
