Hey all, since the only gunsmith in the San Diego Area that I know of has left, I need help from another Gunsmith. I have a Remington 870 that I have put the fron WILSON COMBAT sight on but I need the rear WILSON COMBAT ghost ring sight put onto it. This requires drilling and tapping which I am not comfortable with since there is no room for error. Any San Diego, CA Gunsmith recomendations as I do not want to ship my weapon off. Thanks
Have you spoken to Clive at El Cajon Gun Exchange? He was the smith at Krasnes downtown for a long time.

Yes I have, that's actually who I was referring to in my post. I talked with him a couple of weks ago but he informed me he would not be able to do the work as he was leaving...(No more info than that) It's a shame because I have gotten work done by him previously and it was exceptional at a good cost.
It's kind of a long shot, but Jim Boxberger might be out there somewhere. Palomar Mountain area. He's retired and won't help you unless he likes you. And he doesn't like anyone.
Try the guys at Southbay Rod and Gun. On a good day, there are several centuries of knowledge at the line.

Ask for Gene or Jerry. They did a WC ghost ring install on my friend's 870 and did a really good job. Even hunted down a NIB Les Baer TRS for me for $1465. They're good guys that do really good work.
