I just bought my first Glock and I was wandering do i clean the copper stuff off before i shoot her for the first time?
No, but you should oil it as directed in the owners manual.

Shoot it first then remove the copper lube.

Either way. Clean it or let it wear off by itself. Whatever the case, use a quality oil and apply per the manual's instructs.

Last personally heard from a factory rep was it only needed to be left on for the 1st. 50-100 rounds. It's best to get it off before you put any oil on the gun as it will mix and eventually get on everything. Very difficult to impossible to get off nylon and any cloting, etc.
Last recert class I went through they said take it off before shooting the gun as it serves no real purpose. All it is, is anti seize compound and your Glock will not seize if oiled properly.
