Does the p99c come in a .40 S&W??

Yep.....the big difference you'll notice between the 9MM and the 40 is the slide....

I don't believe the Walther P99C (Compact) is available in .40 S&W.

I think S&W makes a version though.

Hi...the last i heard is they are still being made in 40 S&W....the difference is in the slide......the 9mm has the flat sides at the front of the slide .....while the 40 S&W slide is the same the whole length ....this pic is of a P99c in 40 S&W....my understanding wilks2123 is the 9mm was manufactured first...then the 40's came out later.....I'm thinking about buying one myself
