View Full Version : Yes or no?
Looking for my first AR. Found a year-old Bushy A2. Collapsible stock, after-market flash suppressor, cheap 4x30 scope mounted on top of the carry handle, accessory rail w/ flashlight holder on bottom of forearm. Individual is asking $700. Good deal, average deal, or bad deal?

Sounds decent. With that price, I'd have to question the quality of the rail. I'd ditch the light mount, also, if I got it.
Please elaborate. I can converse with anyone on shotguns, with most on pistols, with a few on hunting rifles and knives, but I'm an AR-15 neonate. Thanks.

I'm a gear snob, I'll admit it. Bushmaster, from the factory, uses YHM stuff. IMHO, it is crap. If you can pass along what brand the rails are, we could tell you better what kinda value there is.
The rifle alone sounds like a good deal at $700. It's hard to find complete, factory Bushys for that price, so in that case, well, I guess I'd jump on it; especially if it is local, no shipping nor FFL fees.
As far as the light mount goes, well, I prefer Surefires with inegrated ARMS mounts, but that's just me. Many here enjoy 1" scope rings with a G2 Nitrolon mounted.
Anyhow, I think that if you're in the market, then this would be a good rifle to buy. Hard to put a rifle through the ringer in a year.
