I saw that photo a few weeks ago. It said it was hurricane damage. I don't know for sure.

You know if I had several million dollars worth of aircraft sitting in the path of a hurricane, I'd move them. Far away. heck I'd let the pilots put their friends and family on board for free and get them away from the hurricane too.

Yeah, that's what I said to my wife when I saw it. It's one thing to try to move a boat out of the way, (if it is too big to trailer) and another to leave millions of dollars worth of aircraft sitting there.
Maybe they were in for repair and unflyable.

Northwest Flight 1495 departed Columbus at 18:26 on a flight to Minneapolis. The flight was carried out by DC-9-51 N763NC. The DC-9 experienced a reported loss of right hydraulic system fluid quantity during a climb to cruise. The flight continued to Minneapolis where a landing was made without incident. The flight then taxied under its own power to gate G10 where it stopped and awaited a tow into the gate. At the same time a company Airbus A.319 (N368NB) was being pushed back by a tug. The DC-9 then moved forward and impacted the right wing of the Airbus. The Airbus' right hand wing cut through the top of the flight deck of the DC-9.
