View Full Version : best HK for a lefty
Trying to figure which hk would best suit a lefty, p7m8, p2000, 2000sk or usp compact? Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Which ever one you want. They can all be modified for righties or lefties.
Thanks for reply, but if you had your choice, which would it be?

A P7 -- no modifications necessary....equally well suited for right or left handers out of the box.

I have the USPc 45 Var 2
Works great for me
I would get a P2000sk in .40.
I like the P7M8 better, however it's a 9mm!

That's why my P7 collection includes two P7M10s.....in .40 S&W caliber...;f The one below is my shooter -- the NIB one is a safe queen.

The problem with the M10 is, that it is too bulky on the slide!
While I have to say, that I would like to have one!

I used my M10 for the past three days this week in Randy Cain's Tactical Handgun 101 course ( see www.cumberlandtactics.com ) at Southern Exposure (see www.southernexposuretraining.com ) in Lakeland, FL.
By the end of three days -- and 800 rounds or so of ammunition fired -- most of the shooters (including the Glock users) were complaining of sore hands. The over-engineered slide of the M10 makes it one of the mildest .40 S&W guns available. I felt absolutely no shooting fatigue at the end of the three day course -- and when speed mag changes were involved in the drills, the P7 always came out ahead of the Glocks and 1911s. The M10 even came out tops in the steel plates and hostage drills -- as far as accuracy and speed.
No, I most likely will not use the M10 as a CCW, but it sure came in handy for this course. I know I can do just as well or even better with my M8s or PSPs in real life as I did with the M10 in this training course.
Absoultely zero malfunctions occurred with the M10 or M13 in the three days... not so with some of the $2500 plus 1911s, or even the Glocks used by other shooters. I'm still sold on being a member of the "cult"...;f
The P7 are great no question. Also the squese relase of the slide makes it faster then other pistols, an almost unfair advantage!;)
However, if someone complains about 800 rounds in two days should consider a new hobby!
I appreciate all the feedback on this subject. Looks like I need to find a p7m8, at a price that I can live with.
