View Full Version : New Glock 19
Just finished this one. Done a grip reduction, removed finger grooves, rounded trigger guard, front cocking serrations, contoured nose of slide, mag. well cut-out. Poliished all internals, and 3.5lb disconnector........Thanks, Garyhttp://wendellcustomknives.blademakers.com/Image_knife.asp?Ident_value=1852
Cool. What'd you do the texturing with? It looks like tree bark.

2 cool
Thanks for the comments guys. I'll get some pic's with just the gun and post them later. The stippling is done with a tool I made. The grip is aggresive but feels really good in the hand. Thanks again....Gary
Looks great! I like the design of the front slide serrations.
I'm curious, what is the reasoning behind rounding off the trigger guard? I've seen a few "home" jobs at matches and have always wondered why folks do this.

How much do mods like that cost?
No particular reason for rounding the trigger guard, just personal preference. As far as cost for the modifications:
Full grip reduction with 360 stippling......105.00
No grip reduction,remove checkering and 360 stippling.....75.00
Round trigger guard and stipple..........45.00
Mag cut-outs........25.00
Slide refinish "black, grey, tan or O.D"...........85.00
Contour nose of slide..............................65.00
Foward cocking serrations.3/side...........................65.00
Thumb rest stippling.................................10.00
I've got to be honest...I thought I was going to hate it, but that looks really neat!
Tell us more about the knife. :)
Is that a Glock under the knife?

Thanks again for the comments. The knife is made from O-1 tool steel. Only the bottom 1/3 of the blade is hardened in oil " 3 times "to a rockwell hardness of 56. Cryoed in liquid nitrogen for 12 hours and triple tempered. O.A.L is 9", Blade length 3 3/4" and about 1" wide. Handle is wrapped with 550 para-cord.Blade is coated with Gun-Kote. Comes with a Kydex Cross-draw sheath. I sell this paticular knife for 115.00. Thanks for looking....Gary

round trigger guards rule.
Doesn't removing all of that polymer really weaken up the frame? I know people do it but, it looks, not so safe.
Macjoc,
I really like the slide work you do. Just curious to see are the cocking serrations the exact same width as the factory rear serrations? Second, the nose contour rounding, I noticed it isn't straight down toward the bottom, if a customer chose could they get the nose contoured more like a Glock 26? What type of prep for the finish?
I am haveing my 19 done as I post this, just got some pics of it in its raw shaved down look, Must get ugly to get beautiful.
I am having most all the options offerd done, I think this is going to be one Wicked looking 19 when finished ;z

I'm not brave enough to have the grip stippled like that, but I am still swayed by the rounded nose and serrations in the front.
Do you actually use the front serrations, or is it just for looks? I had some sandpaper grip material on the front of my G21 slide once and it seemed to give better leverage.

macjoc,
do you put front serrations on other pistols? I have a friend at work with a CZ 85 Combat that his wife has trouble racking the slide on. I told him to have her try using the front of the slide, but I'm pretty sure that model does not have serrations in the front.

I believe the slide is black, he has a reverse 2 tone (that's what I call it since I've only seen two tone with stainless on top, black on the bottom).
You bet Gary, I am off to the range tomarrow to shoot that sucker.
Thanks again for a great job on my 19 and I will have my 23 on the way to you down the road also.
