The choke is known as a 'diverter' or 'duckbill'.
The design allows the shot cluster to pattern in a horizontal to vertical dispersion of 3 to 1 to a range of about 40 meters.
Experiments with this have taken place since the first world war and the term 'hallsweeper' was invented to describe this type of choking option.
It has never really caught on with combat shotgunners.
