i just sent out the order to cmp for an '03, '03A3, and a racker. hope they are as nice as my HRA and S/A field grades i got in june. total for this bill is $1218.95 - thanks to my 0% interest visa untill 3/1/07

You'll be all fixed up now. When the CMP runs out of 10903A3s very soon and 1903s before too long, you won't be kicking yourself. I got my 1903A3 just a few weeks ago.

May I suggest:
CMP sells a case of M2 ball, in four ammo cans, for $192 + $38 S&H. That's $.24/round for 960 rounds. With your growing collection of 30.06 rifles, you'll soon use it up!

Hey fellas,

I'm curious about the CMP deal. I've read through their website, etc. What are some common organizations I can join to be eligible? I'm a member of the National Guard. What would I need to do? I'm interested in ordering a 1903 or 1903A3 now, and then taking a trip up to Camp Peery and maybe buying a collector's grade Garand.

Any tips?

Their website lists the affiliate groups, by state.

The most convenient club to join is Garand Collectors Association(GCA). You can join on-line. $25, I am told.

VCDL is an affiliate organization which satisfies the club requirement. Besides, you'll be supporting a fine group working hard on your gun rights in VA.
