My lovely wife, whom I love dearly, is letting me get a G34 for christmas and Im looking for good scope mount and a good scope/ reddot. Any opinons on which mount and optic to buy or avoid.
Thanks
Jeb
I like the Dr. Optic or JP Optic red dot sight.
I have no experience myself with them, what I do like is that they fit right into the dovetail groove on the slide. I once installed a C-More red dot and some sort of mount, and it was constantly getting brass hung up in the mount.

has anyone tried the Aimtech mounts? They look great plus the bottom one leaves the rail open for a light.

My experience has with pistol mounts is to buy one where supports are on both sides of the gun. I tried a The Accessories mount and it ended up being canted. If I were to mount optics again, I would go for the Carver mount or somehting built like that.

I have a Leupold and hate it. It was on for about 30 minutes at the range, couldn't wait to get the damn thing off.

My G34 has a Carver competition mount and a Leupold Gilmore red dot on it. Works great for me.

I highly recommend the Carver Hunter Mount with C-more SR. The hunter sits higher above the bore allowing you to keep your metal sights on the gun, and doesnt jam from brass getting caught in the breech. I have this setup on my 34 and love it.
I highly recommend asking Bobby if you have any questions.

I like this mount alot I got it from S&J Custom (http://www.glockjockey.com/)
Its a clean mount that still lets you have access to your rails for your light or other stuff
Thats my wife's gun on the right with a C-More mounted.:)
