View Full Version : what sights for your P99?

I am considering replacing the factory sights on my newly aquired P99.
I have used Meprolight green/green on a Kahr PM9 and have been happy enough with them.
If I go with Meprolight's again I was considering different colors for front/rear. But not sure if I would really like it or not.
Are the Meprolights for the P99 good for point of aim shot placement?
I have also thought about fiber optic front and rear like red front and green rear. But not sure who makes them or where to get them.
I was thinking that the fiber optic sights might give a faster sight picture in anything except total darkness.
I would like to hear what you use and if they met your expectations/requirements.
Thanks,
David

The stock sights have been OK for me all these years!!
AS BIG DOTS would be nice, but I haven't been able to find them for a P99. Has anyone?

I tried big dot sights on a 1911 and didn't find them as accurate.
If I got a fiber optic front, will it be as accurate as stock sights, or are you trading the speed of getting the sight picture for accuracy.
I HAVE A HIVIZ FRONT SIGHT ON MINE AND IM THINKING ABOUT THE TRIJICON OR MEPROLIGHT NIGHT SIGHTS BUT JUST TO TRY SOMTHING BETTER BUT CHEAPER TO TEST OUT THE WATER, CONTACT HIVIZ @[url]www.hivizsights.com/url] MINE WAS AROUND 25$ WITH THERE LE/MIL DISCOUNT,OH YEAH AND TELL THEM WALTHER USA(SMITH&WESSON), IS OUT OF STOCK TILL DECEMBER(CAUSE THEY ARE) AND THEY MIGHT EVEN SHIP FOR FREE MAKING IT A GREAT DEAL !

I got mine directly from Walther America...
Xssights 24/7 sells them direct...price difference of 6 or 7 bucks....
My factory sights serve me well...I have Big Dots on my compact and while I may not shoot as tight a group with them on paper as with other sights, I have been able to compete on 8-10" steel plates in USPSA at 50' or better without any problem...:)

The meps land about an inch or two high for me at 25 yards, in my experience.
Personally Im impressed, consistent tight groups on target at 7yds, 15yds, and 50ft. It definaetly will not work @ night but for indoor target shooting or day shooting its a wonderful low-price alternative.

So, U don't find that they suffer from a bit of inaccuracy like big dot sights do? I've been tempted to buy a set of the Hi Viz myself...
What up ShipWreck,
At first it was hell,(first mag) , then I started using my military fundamentals and started hitting. Sounds like bull**** but I even my wife was shocked.

Cool. I may try buying just the front sight first, and then I'll see what I think...
Do you mean they even make rear sights that are hiviz
