Question about a K98

A friend of mine just recently purchased a K98 8mm. It's in pretty good condition, built in 1944. The barrel looks great. The eagle markings are still present but it appears the swastika markings have been punched off. Most of the numbers are matching, the butt-plate and floorplate I believe do not. The wood is in good shape with only a couple dings here and there. He paid $230.00 and was curious if he got a decent deal.

Any help is appreciated!

For what it's worth, I had a chance to fire it yesterday and she shoots like a peach.

thats about average. a russian captured k98 is goin for about $200, + shippiong and transfer.
