I've been wanting a 1911 for a long time. A small dealer I know had a Colt Gold Cup Trophy. After some bargaining he agreed to sell it to me for $895. I took it home field stripped it, cleaned and lubed. I can't wait to shoot it.

I see ammoman.com has 7 round GI .45 magazines for sale. Will they work in the Gold Cup?
I have been thing about another handgun and I have always love the 1911 style. My brother has a sweet Caspian 10mm 1911 style with blued slide and stainless frame and Pachmeyer grips. OOOOH that guns is Super Sexy!
What models do you guys suggest for the first 1911? What are good prices?

I took the Gold Cup to the range yesterday. I shot about 200 rounds, everything from my various handloads and a couple different kinds of factory ammo. It shot flawlessly and I was very pleased with the accuracy at 75, 60 and 25 feet. Very nice trigger.
