Anyone here using a Marvel .22 conversion ? On what brand frame ?
Results...good/bad/indifferent ?
What ammo for best accuracy ?
Planning on building one & am looking for any/all replies, comments.
Thanks in advance

A series 1 conversion kit is guaranteed to leave the factory shooting in less then 1/2" holes at 25 yards. For an extra $75 they will tune it to less then that.
I don't think the frame matters much but the fitting and the trigger sure do. If you have a 1911 that you like to shoot, that's the one I'd use. I've been thinking of one for my Smith DK.
I shot a "Steel Challenge" with a guy who was using one on his Les Baer and turned in a score of about 79 sec.. He was using optics but that gun could shoot (of course the shooter may have had something to do with it too). I got a chance to try it and it's almost like you can't miss.
I have a Marvel Unit 1 - I tried it on a Kimber frame at first but quickly wanted a frame just for the Marvel. Mine had a factory test target of .6 inches at 50 yards.
I built up a Caspian frame with some quality "fire control" components.
I suspect the Marvel would work on just about any frame. The unit 1 is so accurate you will want a very good trigger. I got mine to 2 3/4 lbs and very crisp.
I put an Ultra Dot sight on it and it's very difficult to miss a 3 inch bullseye at 50 feet. I've shot a few groups less than 2 inches -standing-two handed.
The unit 1 is designed for standard velocity target ammo - while I've gotten tighter groups with some of the expensive Eley ammo I've settled on CCI Standard Velocity - it's plenty accurate and much cleaner than the Eley plus it's a fraction of the price.
I used blue loctite to hold the guide rod in - that's what keeps it on the frame. With the CCI I can shoot many hundreds between cleanings.
I have several target handguns and the Marvel Unit 1 is the most accurate and after a short break-in has been exceptionaly reliable with the CCI SV ammo.
If there's a downside it's a minor one: the slide doesn't lock back when the magazine is empty - I just count the rounds so I don't dry fire it.

I've had mine on a caspian frame and an old Colt frame. If the frame is "normal" then it will be fine.
I've got iron sights and a dot.
Any standard velocity works fine, I usually use Wolf or Eley Practice (aka Trainer). I use it for Bullseye and for steel plates, pins, ...
It would be hard to go wrong with it.

Thanks gang. It looks like one is going to have to be acquired. I tried one at a pin shoot 2 weeks ago & it was impressive. It carries an OKO dot & a factory Marvel comp. The owner shoots CCI SGB in it, because of it's effect on pins. Said he tried Velocitor using the heavier spring that Marvel suggests, but it's not as accurate as with the SGB, so that's why he goes that route.
