Well, most of it anyway.
My new Springfield TRP is getting some not-needed-whatsoever upgrades, because I can't help myself.
I ordered the Ed Brown hammer, sear, sear spring, disconnector, hammer strut, trigger, slide stop, plunger tube, tactical mag release, and tactical safety today! All Hardcore or Perfection parts, whatever was their "best".
Once it all arrives, the gun with the parts goes to Springfield Custom Shop to have the parts fitted and installed, along with the beavertail safety and S&A one piece magwell/MSH that come on the Springfield Professional. Smooth it all out, nice 4lb. trigger pull, then the gun will be hard chromed. I wanted to do something a little different, so the factory barrel bushing, and the new slide stop/plunger tube/mag release/safeties will be finished in Black T. It's all topped off with Carbon Creations smooth carbon fiber grips with stainless hex head screws. I can't wait to see how it turns out!
The gun is already a tack driver, functions flawlessly, and most likely the original MIM parts will never break. But I still wanted tool steel parts, and I wanted a smoother engaging beavertail safety with a tighter fit. Total waste of money, but I wanted to do it just for fun and for a unique look that I think will turn out nicely.
Pictures, of course, will be posted once the work is all done. Hopefully by then I'll figure out what's next... Les Baer Custom Carry, Springfield Professional, or maybe an Ed Brown Kobra Carry!
Then I'll need a new wallet, once the credit card melts in there! ;g
