Are there any range reports / threads on this gun?

Beautiful? Do you by any chance drive a Gremlin?;f
Seriously, I've read a couple of reports on these over at the 1911 forum. Basically just a Warrior in a differant color. Although I have read a couple of guys complain that the color on the actual gun doesn't match the pictures they had seen. FWIW, since these and the Warrior are really just "series 1" Kimbers, they may well be worth a hard look. Good luck.
That was pretty funny about the Gremlin. Beauty's in the eye of the beholder and all that. Anyway, thanks for the tip on the 1911 forum. I looked around there. The comments aren't too inspiring. Once again proving - there's nothing more reliable than my Glock.

So internet lore is proof? ;z Whatever makes you feel better about your glock purchase. ;f I understand that the hand of god comes down and cycles each round through a glock in the view of many but there are SEVERAL reliable handgun makers out there.

Not to keep the old "kimber fight" going, but I just wanted to point something out. When someone posts negatives (or positives for that matter) about a gun they do not own but are simply repeating remarks they've heard or read, that can be considered "internet lore". But when you read threads with people talking about problems they have experienced first hand, that's something differant. Of course the only ones you could trust are the remarks by someone with at least 500 posts. That would mean they are "broken in" and must be working right!;g
BTW, tfisher, I was indeed kidding with the Gremlin remark. Actually the Desert Warrior wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for those ugly *** grips. Just dying them black like I saw someone do on their Warrior would be a big improvement.

I think Kimber is trying to get back on the right track and the Warrior has the 70 series system and internal extractor. But I have shot a couple and the finish does not impress me and it's still full of MIM.

For the asking price of the warrior I just think you are better off looking for a slightly used series I custom classic and a couple cases of ammo. I'm not real big on light rails but they certainly are popular now. For $200-300 more than the warrior you could get a Baer PII. Of course it wouldn't have the fancy Mr. Peanut grips :)
