I was thinking of getting a ruger blackhawk 50th anniversary edition .357mag w/ a 4 5/8" barrel in blued steel. What is a fair price for a new gun?
thanks
I just got my 50th Anniversary Blackhawk about
an hour ago...paid off the layaway I started in Aug
this year. Total price is $484 including tax. You
can probably do better if you shop around...but I just
had to have this one---and boy is it sweet. Cant wait
to try it out tomorrow. I'll be shooting my reloads mostly,
but I'll stop at Walmart to get some factory loads for
comparison. I think If you buy online, it may be cheaper.
I would guess low $400s could be had, but then again you never know. The word "anniversary" tends to drive some prices higher.
I got my 4" Super Blackhawk .44mag for $420 NIB.
I picked up my Anniversary model at the local gun show for $499 plus tax. The tag price read $589.
I'm sure I could have waited and found one cheaper, but I figured I'd been waiting at least 10 months already and I was due.
Shot 50 rounds of Winchester 125gr with 6.4gr Green Dot
yesterday. Not too bad but it shot a little low. I forgot
my screwdriver to adjust elevation. This is a really nice
single action. It fits my hand just right. I will try it
again soon but this time with factory loads. Although the
50th anniversary is not as accurate as my Security Six, I
love the feel and handling of it...next thing is to accesorize.
You can't really do too much---maybe a nice set of wooden grips
and leather holster.
Anyone else with experience with the 50th anniversary? How
does yours shoot in terms of accuracy?
Bluebook lists the 100% at $455. My guess, in my area you would have to pay a few bucks more.
