If any of you know or deal with anyone with alcohol/drug addiction this book is a must read. A story of one mans six-week stay at a treatment center. I couldn't put this down.
Have any of you read this?
Anyone interested can go to Oprah's website and read an exerpt.

Good book. Chosen as the Amazon Critics choice for 2003.
Check out his follow up: "My Friend Leonard". The second book is much more easily read. Has painful parts, funny situations and unique twists and turns.

Non-fiction as well? I had no idea he had another book out. Leonard was pretty f-ing smooth, I can't wait to get this.
Thanks

Check out The Smoking Gun dot com web site. Turns out the stories were mostly fiction. It doesn't make it any less enjoyable to read both books, but he sure made up a lot of stuff.

Mr. Frey may have gotten himself straight and sober, but he still has problems. Never trust an addict.

Great book, I would kinda like my money back for the fact that he lied about some of it. But I would have still bought it if it were in the fiction section. Looking forward to My Friend Leonard!

The publisher erred in not labeling Million Little Pieces as fiction as it was originally shopped. They bargained it was grittier and more real as non-fiction.
My Friend Leonard is an awesomely romp through a semi-fiction romp. It's great. It has a disclaimer as lots of fiction. It has twists and turns that are entertaining. I think its only out in hardcover and the library is the best place to get it. After you read AMLP it tends to read much quicker although being just as long.
Makes a good point tho, some lies or not. I agree with Frey that AA and the like are a trade of addictions. THis is fine and no prob with it as long as you trade up and not down. But don't call a trade a cure. A cure is saying no and making it work.
