Any good, bad, or ugly about these? I'm going to pick one up this week, so I want to see if there are any quarky things I should know about them. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I did search and didn't find much. Any links to reviews or other threads are appreciated.

P2000 and P2000sk are fine firearm. Maybe hkpro.com can answer your question as well.

The only thing that is quirky about the P2Ksk is the 8.5# trigger. I was having a difficult time shooting left handed and maintaining tight groups, I was also pulling the trigger rather than squeezing it due to the heavy trigger. Went on HKPro.com, talked with a guy named BigBore and swapped out my Trigger return spring, and firing block spring, dropped the trigger down to 4.5#. No complaints now and can shoot just as sraight right, left, or both hands!!!!
Other than that, I have not had one single malfunction or jam!!!

If you have a link for the where & how to's, I would appreciate it. Just p/u a V2 P2000SK .40 myself & really dislike the heavy trigger break.

I got em from whoever Bigbore recommended (I don't remember now but I think it was HKPartsonline). It was $10 for the springs, $4.99 for the punches from Sears, and it took 10 minutes. I'm no gunsmith so don't worry about experience level, I followed the pictures directly from the link above, and it was very simple. Trust me, it makes a world of difference in the way the gun shoots, and it has a more crisp trigger.

Is it self-defense reliable?

Yeah, just as good as the USP's and the Glocks! The only thing the spring change did was change it from a revolver type trigger pull to a Glock type trigger pull. Glocks come with a 5-5.5# trigger. I feel a lot more confident with it now because if I ever had to shoot it weak handed I could shoot accurately now. The springs are factory H&K springs used for the USP's too by the way, therefore it you're not modifying the gun out of the warranty or H&K specs. Try it out, it's only $10, you'll like it!

Looking to buy my first HK. Their website states they can reduce the LEM to 5.5 pounds so you probable did what they would do.
I dont mind the Glock trigger.

Can't wait to get my p2000 in tomorrow! I will also be looking to do the spring conversion, so thanks for that link.
My P2000SK has been perfect after thousands of rounds. I love it.
What variant of the P2000 and P2000 comes with the 5.5 lb trigger? I am gonna buy a pistol after christmas and am interested in buying the right one right off of the bat.

On the P2000SK, Variant 1 has the lower 5.5# pull.

+1 on Big Bore's nine dollar trigger job. I don't even know what gunsmith means but I was able to do it. Makes a big difference and so far has been totally reliable and I don't expect that to change.
I bought the parts from Hk parts online (http://www.hkpartsonline.com)
