I went to the range today to shoot my S&W 642. I had my 'smith smooth out the action, and wanted to try it out.
Anyway, I have been thinking about selling my HK USP9 and getting another .45. I already have a Glock 19 which works fine, and really one 9mm is enough. I have a 1911, P220ST, and the USP 45f. I used to own a Glock 21 (and a 30), and thought maybe the G21 would be a good .45 to pick up again.
My range has one for rent, so I asked to hold it. As I picked up the brick of a gun, managed to get my hand around it, and dry fired the gun, I realized that there's no turning back now. The 1911 has spoiled me.
I had the clerk put the gun back in the display case. If I sell the USP9, I'm picking up a beater 1911 (SA Mil Spec most likely) to shoot weekly and probably do some trigger work on.
Funny how you get acquainted with the 1911, and other handguns just don't cut it anymore.
