First G19 - WOW!

I've owned a G21, 26 and 30 and each one was a great gun. However, there was always something missing. The Goldie Locks Syndrome - slide too fat, grip too fat, grip too small, etc. (for CCW). Although I'd handled 17s and 19s before I just dismissed them for some reason. I was big into CCW and so the 26 was my choice.

My friend at the FFL I do business with talked me into the G19 (wasn't hard). When I got it home last night and began "playing" with it all of a sudden it just melted into my hand. Like many people I've always considered the Glock to be an accurate and utterly reliable TOOL, nothing more. But last night I started talking to my G19 and telling her how beautiful she was. I was behaving like a 1911 owner!!! My right hand kept slapping my left hand when it got near her; I'll just have to buy a second one so they can each have one. This Glock even LOOKS like a gun is supposed to. It has sexy lines. I've even named her - Goldie Glocks;f!! NO I did not violate her so don't post any suggestive accusations. This is a family site.

I've ordered a Milt Sparks Watch Six but will use my SideArmor for IDPA. The holster is for my G26 and the 19 is a bit loose in it so I'd be nervous about it falling out for daily CCW (no "click" retention sound). Last night I put the AGrip on it and it feels really good. Next will be the G17 smooth trigger and 3.5# connector.

Right now I'm off to the range to run a few hundred "breaking-in" rounds through her.

That looks sweet, I am seriously thinking about picking up a G19. Let us know how she shoots :)

Love my G19's accuracy. You can't beat the fit and capacity. Top Glock IMO.

Didn't have time to get to the range so I took a trail into the woods behind my house and shot 60 rounds into a coke can. Although I can't say how accurate it is in scientific terms I can say that it was at least as accurate as any Glock I've owned and easier to handle/faster follow-up than my 21, 26, 27 or 30. The coke can did not do too well...

It ate EVERYTHING including 115 gr. Winchester, S&B and 124 gr. Gold Dot Pro Load +P - I intentionally loaded up one mag with a mixture of all three manufacturers and did a rapid fire - not one single hint of a hiccup. I LOVE THIS GUN. Why didn't I discover this sooner??

My 17 round mags were noticeably tighter than the 15 round mags. Any problem with this?

3.5# connector and smooth 17 trigger will be next. I can't wait to use it in IDPA. Yup, my "Goldi-Glocks" is just right...

I love the 19, my first and only handgun. Alot of people give me crap about it being a 9mm, but then i let them shoot off a few DoubleTap 124gr+p's and they understand. The most common reaction I get is "holy Sh1t, this feels like a 40"

I was thinking of getting some DoubleTap ammo. Right now I have plenty of practice ammo but only 200 rounds of ProLoad 124 +P (made with Gold Dots). If Gold Dots work in my 19 I'd be pretty confident that the DoubleTap ammo would be reliable too.

It's pretty expensive to put 100+ rounds of DT down range to test reliability. Is the recoil and muzzle flip noticeably increased with the DT ammo?
