frames cut for beavertail

OK still trying to research my 1911 build. I will be getting the Wilson and Kunhausen books, but have a question in the mean time.

I know I want a honking big high ride beavertail. Many say that frame modification is required. Some frames say cut for 2.25 or 2.5 grip safety. The wilson frame specificly says cut for the high ride beavertail and lists a 2.5 cut.

Does this mean anything cut for a 2.5 will accept the high ride type safeties?

A true high ride beavertail grip safety does require extensive frame modification. A Brown type grip safety is a .250 and Wilson is a .220, these numbers refer to the radius that the frame tangs have to be rounded to. Brown's also require a lot of work to the grip area of the frame.
