CMC makes an adjustable trigger, but it's pricy at $160. Surf Brownells, they list about 12 seperate aftermarket triggers for AR's. RMTactical 11-19-2005, 20:11 For inexpensive and decent 2-stage RRA has a good one. I think you can find them for under $90 still. aubie515 11-20-2005, 08:28 If you can find a RRA trigger for under $90, you should buy it...I have a dealer license and it's tough to find the RRA trigger...period...yet alone at that price. I own two of their triggers and it's not bad...I also have a JP trigger as well. My next trigger will be a CM straight trigger for my DPMS LR. JellyBelly 11-20-2005, 11:33 I have a Jard in mine. It's worth every penny spent, but it's not a DIY project. Have someone do it who has done them before. http://www.jardinc.com/ARtrigger.htm RMTactical 11-20-2005, 11:53 Originally posted by aubie515 If you can find a RRA trigger for under $90, you should buy it...I have a dealer license and it's tough to find the RRA trigger...period...yet alone at that price. They say the RRA and the Armalite or a copy of each other but the Armalite is machined while the RRA is not. The difference between the CMC and the Armalite is like night and day. Alot of people say the KAC is the best 2 stage but they go for over $300. Wes of MSTN sells alot of working rifles to operators and contractors and he says he has only seen a couple of KAC triigers that were better than the CMC. Besides the CMC is so easy to drop in.Also there have been more than one report of the RRA not lasting very long and going to a long single stage trigger. DiverDn 11-21-2005, 13:29 Thanks for the help, I'm starting my research on building an AR. DD AR's4u 11-23-2005, 18:22 http://ktaccuracyinc.com/mcart/index.cgi?code=3&cat=6 RRA 2 stage, $94.00 + $6.99 shipping. Say you saw it on GT and I'll ship for $3.00. Two in stock right now. The-Fly 11-23-2005, 22:05 while not cheap, the jp triggers are really sweet. about 3.5 pound pull, maybe less. Very clean, litte slack on it. http://www.jprifles.com/TriggerParts.html G23Adam 11-24-2005, 01:30 I'm going to throw out my usual vote for the Jewel. It's a PITA to set up, it's an aweful lot of money, blah blah blah, but I like it :) I can make it pull exactly how I like it. spongy takeup, crisp break. the RRA 2 stage is the one I use in a "pull trigger, must go bang every time" rifle. The best way to get one is to buy one of their completed lowers :) Then buy yourself a completed RRA upper so you have a complete rifle there :) Zeef 11-26-2005, 01:17 RR 2 stage is perfect for varmit. Legal Transfers of N.H. is having a sale on them - $88, or something like that. But you can't beat the JP for a fighting AR trigger. I have the non-drop-in original. I have pounded the hell out of that AR with thousands of rounds and have never had to readjust anything on the JP. The price still hovers about $120, and you will have to install it the old fasion way. But read the instructions, they work. agtman 11-26-2005, 20:13 From personal experience with it, I'd go with RRA's 2-stage match trigger group. This year I shot two tactical rifle courses using 2 AR carbines. One gun has the RRA unit in it. I'd already pounded about 500-rds through that carbine before the first course, and then did about another 850-rds or so with it during the course. The RRA ran just fine during CQB "hammer"-type firing, and its smooth 2-stage pull helped me shoot some pretty tight groups (tight for me anyway ;) ) from 200 and 300yds. Same result at the second tac rifle course. I shot the carbine with the RRA unit for 90% of this course. It fired over 1000-rds with no problems. You read a lot of criticism on the 'net about putting "match" trigger units in ARs intended for duty or military use, or even serious tactical training. While some match triggers may crap-out under hard use, the RRA held up. So that's what I know. In my other carbine, of course, I have the standard trigger, and I can shoot pretty well with it. But I'm still waiting for my RRA unit to break. ;P Here's another bit of insight on hard shooting with the RRA 2-stage trigger. Admittedly the story's second-hand, but I'll pass it on FWIW. Earlier this year, I missed out on a Pat Rogers tac carbine class up in Michigan (it was back in June, IIRC). Anyway, a friend who shot the course was giving me the after-action report on what he saw, what worked, what didn't, etc. (He said what they shot was basically the MEUSOC course). He specifically mentioned that a few shooters showed up with RRA 2-stage match triggers installed in their guns. He believed these to be ADCO-built ARs. He related that there were no problems with these guns. He said he overheard Mr. Rogers comment positively on the ADCO carbines, which I took to mean their overall performance. Presumably, if any of the RRA triggers had crapped-out up there during hard shooting, right under Pat Rogers' watchful eyes, you'd have already heard about it somewhere. So just FYI. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
