I am getting the itch to buy one, but know nothing about them. What is the price for one of these in full auto? Any good dealers in Colorado?

Has to have been manufactured prior to 1986, meet all ATF requirements for registration/licensing and I'm going to guess that it would cost you somewhere around $10,000. BNSF 11-21-2005, 22:56 No way! Are you for real? obxemt 11-21-2005, 23:14 Originally posted by BNSF No way! Are you for real? For a full-auto MP5? Yes sir. You can get semi-auto clones with 16-inch barrels that look rediculous for something like $1200-1500. Those can also come with shortened barrles (ATF "SBR") which require application and a $200 federal tax stamp. Depending on your state laws, it may also require application and approval through local law enforcement. My state requires application for permission from the Sheriff of the county of residence. BNSF 11-21-2005, 23:22 Well, if that is the case, screw them. I will stick with what Uncle Sam is letting me sign out of the arms room. I think I will look for a shot gun. Thanks for the info. obxemt 11-21-2005, 23:29 That or an AR-15. If you want something a little tricked out (as far as a shotgun), you may want to look at Wilson Combat "Scatterguns". I bought an 870 and sent it to them for their treatment...cheaper than buying the whole gun from them. If you really want a pistol caliber carbine you may want to look at the Beretta Cx4 Storm. Not really comparable to the MP5, but at $600, it does the same thing, only semi-auto. MarcDW 11-22-2005, 01:16 This is a post dealer sample, so if I quit my license I have to give it up. MP5's are great shooter with a lot of fun. http://www.mdwguns.com/MP5K.jpg Reloading is a must or a lot of $$$ for ammo! http://www.mdwguns.com/MP5KBeta.jpg You can look around, there are plenty of places where you can rent one on a range! mefly2 11-22-2005, 02:35 Wouldn't an MP5 be a great buy for only $10K? obxemt 11-22-2005, 09:05 Originally posted by mefly2 Wouldn't an MP5 be a great buy for only $10K? I figured that was a starting point...I know I've seen them in the past starting there on gunbroker, but a reserve may have been set higher. I know they ain't cheap! :) Bravo-Four 11-22-2005, 10:22 Check out vectors website, they got MP5 clones available in .40, .357 sig, and 10mm ;) Yes, the long ones with the fake cans look absolutely hokey as hell, the class III ones are nice. Its a good deal to be able to fire ten mils through a carbine with sufficient quality BNSF 11-22-2005, 12:57 Thanks for the inputs/responses. But for 10k, forget it. Uncle Sam lets me play with a nice inventory of weapons. I think I will put that 10k into my basement project. "In house" shooting range? mefly2 11-24-2005, 00:05 No doubt ... we'll all meet at his house. One caveat for Vector consideration is that - at leat the 9 clones - do NOT function as HK delayed roller lock firearms. mefly2 Terminator 11-26-2005, 18:19 The latest issue of CDNN has the HK 94 for the bargain prce of 2499.00 its the semi auto version of the MP5. at least its not 10-15k ;g Rockets 11-27-2005, 13:32 Sorry, Quick type job and had not read the whole thread. Hey and nice MP5K. Rockets Out… rtr 11-28-2005, 15:29 I have an HK 94, just sent it off to get it converted to look like an MP5, will still be semi-auto but still lots of fun. If I want in the future I can put a full auto sear in it and have an MP5. Rockets 11-28-2005, 18:17 Are you getting the barrel chopped down to make it a SBR and go the three lug route? Nice thing about sears is most are registered in three calibers so you can change them out to about any HK rifle without having to register a new gun. Mine is a registered receiver so it 9mm only but I wanted to go that way. Kinda the old Coke vs Pepsi argument, no right or wrong, both have advantages. It's probably my favorite gun and not because it's auto, I hardly even flip that switch anymore. It (94/MP5) just feels natural almost like it's an extension of your arms, not any real concentration needed for tack driver shooting. Rockets Out... rtr 11-28-2005, 19:56 I am having the barrel replaced with a MP5 takeoff three lug barrel. It is one of the most fun guns to shoot that I've ever shot, give me a few 30 round mags and a plate rack and it's some of the best plinking out there. Hoping to shoot the SBRed 94 in some steel matches this summer, should be fun. Rockets 11-28-2005, 20:37 Very cool. Honestly, I have more fun shooting my on single fire with a supressor. Shooting plates with it supressed is a hoot. The plates will make 10 times as much noise as the gun, even the cycling of the gun is louder than the shot if you shoot tri-flow or something like that in the can. And hey, compared to sears, cans are dirt cheap (but if you are in the market by a good one, there are lots now that don't require threading, they twist on the three lug. Rockets Out.... PS: The 100 round Beta mags are getting resonable. Though you have to hold your arm a bit funny to clear it but it's easy enough to get used to. If they were THAT cheap, I'll take two, sheeeiiit.., make it three.. ;f Rockets 11-29-2005, 19:16 As long as the laws don't change on transferables they are good investements. Not that it's easy for many of us to come up with that kind of cash. My M16A2 I bought seven years ago for $5,000 and the MP5 I bought for $10,000, are somewhat rare models and both go for an average of $15,000 right now so I have doubled my investment. At some point I expect they will be high enough I can not refuse to sell them. On the other hand if they end the transferablity of them I'm out of luck.
