I put the Colt medallion grips on it last night but did not take pics, it was too dark. I will try to get pics with those nicer grips later this afternoon.
I jest had me an organism. ;P Beautiful pistol. ^5 ^5 ^5
I especially like the proof marks on the trigger guard.

BTW, that's a roof tile from my house. Hurricane Wilma knocked it and about 200 more off the roof. :(

Who knows what the future holds. ;f I don't intend to buy one, but if you're offering to give me one...

My G30 has a bunch of rounds through it and has spent a lot of time in my pants. I doubt you would really want it. ;f

Let us know how it shoots, if it's like mine it'll work just fine. People, have said
newer Colts don't work right, and they need to be gone through. Okay so I
was curious and when I bought my first Series 80 over a year ago I left it stock.
Now reloads are different story, but factory ammo no problem. It works out of
the box, and so I bought another.

Fuji Finepix S5000. Wasn't too expensive either.

I have been working through a couple of issues with it, discussed in the Colt-friendly forum:

Hiya Razor. I am very pleased with the fit and finish on the gun. Just working through those issues.
My weekend starts NOW baby. ;f

I see you're having the problem I have in my dreams!! The trigger is such a heavy pull that it requires excessive force or you can't pull it at all!! I hate those dreams and I'd hate it worse in RL!! ;f
Question for ya: Which is better, an internal extractor or external? I've heard people singing S&W praises over theirs. I've also heard that it is better to have closer to original 1911 specs. Whenever I get one (and I will some day) I'll most likely leave it stock so upgrades aren't a factor. Thanks!! Hope you get your kinks out!!
Yikes! Just when I was warming up to the idea of a new Series 80 Colt to buy as a beater gun! Hope it all works out... it sure is a pretty gun!
Nice Colt Scott. You will get the issues worked out, no doubt. On my 1991A1 the only thing I changed was the rear sight. I installed a Yost Retro Rear. What an improvement in the sight picture.

It looks far too new and clean.... ;Q I think you need to shoot the thing a bunch and get it well worn in. Is the gun actually more of a grey color ??? maybe it was the lighting or your camera ??? but in any case it looks great.
Please let us know what you think of the trigger and how the gun feels as you break it in. My first colt felt awkward and very stiff and notchy some 25 years ago.... now after many tens of thousands of rounds... it feels like a perfect match to my hand.

Very pretty Colts on here. I was always put off by the many malfunction stories, until I got to handle a couple. Very nice (once I remembered to take the safety off. Damn you Gaston!).:)

Hiya Razor. I don't have an opinion on external vs. internal extractors, as long as they work. Scuttlebut says that Smith got it right. I like the clean look on my Colt but the Smith was the other gun I was considering when shopping for the new 1911.
BTW, I figured out the problem. I racked the slide really hard a few (hundred) times trying to break it in, and impacted the series 80 firing pin safety depressor bar, probably bending it.

I think you would be happy with a series 80 Colt as long as you don't do what I did.

Yes, the Yost-Bonitz retro is what I would use if I was going to replace the sight.
