2183-1 followers seem to work...for the most part.

I went to the range today with a box of WWB JHPs.

Being in CA the 4 mags I have all have 2183 followers.

3 out of 4 fed the JHPs consistently. The 4th mag made the last round get hung up on the feed ramp.

So I guess 2183 followers can work sometimes?

Has anyone have 2183 followers work at first and then fail at a later time?

Mine were entirely consistent--they always failed on the last round of HP/FP! Since I replaced the cursed 2183 followers with 9mm4, there have been NO failures.

I have 4 10 round mags, all have the 2183 followers in them. While I admit that they were used mostly with FMJ's, I did try JHP's in them several times, and did test it a few more times by just loading the first round (last one fired) as a JHP. It never jammed on me.

Since the ban expired I have 15 and 17 rounders for it so it's not an issue.

I never had any problems with the 2183 followers in my current gen 3 G19 or the gen 2 that I had.

2183s wouldnt work for me. Any other folower does however.
