she was looking at my colt 1911 series 70 mkiv 45 when she dropped it, and my brand new meprolight night sights now have a bad dent in the rear sight.
she had the nerve to get mad at ME when i looked kind of sad about it.

Yea, it must have been your fault eh? Dump the biatch. She has no respect for you or your guns.;f

Getting a new G/F is much easier than having a fine pistol repaired.

women make me sick Why did you let her hold it? She did it on purpose. G/Fs and wives do not like things that give the man pleasure and thus try to ruin them and/or the pleasure....ie; guns, golf, cars, any hobby that does include them or they do not approve of. Looks like you got a taste of both....she drops your fine Colt and then give you b***h attitude. Get rid of it.

Send her down the road. Now!! No telling what she will do next. Maybe sella gun when you out of town or at work.Take money and buy shoes for herself. She is dangerous to your gun. Think of the Guns

Hiya Tony. #wav
walpur, at least it's only the sight that is dented, and not the frame or slide.
What was the logic in her being mad that you were sad? Oh, wait...

Hiya Scott #wav Howya be?
Girl drops gun. Guys drops girl. Guy finds another girl. Yes it is that simple.
Women, can't live with them....pass the beer nuts.
Drop her hair drier and then get on to her for letting it hit the ground.

none of my guns are as important as my girlfriend, if she drops one I will take it like a man, not get sad and realize that ***** happenes and it's just a pistol.

It's more the attitude she has than the dropping of the gun that warrants a boot to the curb for her.

Can you still look down the sights?
Does it still shoot point of aim?
Do you plan to shoot it or just fondle it?
It's a tool, it's meant to get knocked arround and dinged up and scratched.
Most of these guns now these days aren't worth the money to spend on collecting them.
Tell her you love her and never mention the gun again.
This thread is to funny ...;z ;i
No one shoots my Kimber.
Especially guys.

its not the gun being dropped that upset me initially. it was her dropping it, me being kind of depressed about it, and her getting mad at me over it!
\HOWEVER, its merely a gun, and it was far from perfect before it hit the concrete. so its no biggie

I think what upset her was you being more concerned about your 1911 than her.
This kind of sounds like when your driving and someone cuts you off and gives you the finger;Q

I'd be dropping her. A woman is only a woman, but a 1911 is a GUN. ;f

walpur6isknight,
I know what you going through. You think that's bad my best friend droped my custom Colt on the ground and the Bomar sight got busted! Believe me it can happen to any gender. Expect it to happen more. Can't live with them and you can't live without them either. I guess she'd better take you out for dinners.

Next time she wants to hold your gun have her do it on the bed so when she drops it it'll just bounce.

Whoa Whoa Whoa....You mean to tell me that when she dropped your 1911, it didn’t go full auto spraying lead in a circular motion like a lawn sprinkler killing all in sight?!!!.....Damn.... movies have lied to me....
I'd be concerend that she doesn't respect your property/understand your concern for the weapon... and I'd think about moving along. I have a tremedous respect for well made mechanical things and I would have a hard time being with someone that A) didn't get that and then B) had the nerve to get upset when they damaged something C) Didn't hold on to the gun to begin with - potentially a one time mistake, but they typically don't spring out of your hands.
At a minimum, she owes you new sights and to assure you she gets it... otherwise, there are man, many women out there.
We need to see pics of your girl friend holding the said gun;f
sounds like you do have some G/F issues.
I would like to know why she was holding the gun. Did you hand it to her? Did she pick it up? Where was the gun located?
It does sound like this could have been an "intentional" accident. My wife treats my gun's the same way she treats her diamonds which is what I expect.
If this is just ONE of a few problems you have had with her then I would "kick" her to the curb.
I am an attorney and I cannot tell you how many FAMILY PROBLEMS could have been avoided if the guy kicked the girl to the curb "when she dropped his gun."
