View Full Version : Belt for 1911 Custom ll
Need a good pants belt for my Galco holster. What make at a resonable price ( $40-60) would be good. Hoslter will fit up to 1 3/4 inch.

I have a few fancier, nicer looking belts, however the one I wear most often is a Wilderness Tactical 1.75" CSM. I like the adjustability of it. It also fits in your price range. A good quality leather belt that is also in your price range is the Aker B-21.

Thanks I like the looks of that Tactical 1.75 CSM and Im assuming it will "hold up" to the weight of the weapon

Oh yeah, no problem there. I have an 1.5" 5 stitch that holds up pretty good to the weight of a 5" steel framed, loaded 1911 which goes about 45 ounces. However the 1.75" CSM is about twice as stiff and I prefer it for daily carry and imo it's worth the additional $10.
The CSM is torsionally stiff and doesn't droop down at all when wearing it and that's what a good gun specific belt should do. The torsionally ridgidity is what holds the gun steadily in place where a lesser non-gun belt will have one hitching up their pants throughout the day.

The only time I don't wear the Wilderness belt is when the belt is exposed like if I'm using a vest or jacket for concealment in a more business casual or formal style. That's just because the Wilderness belt looks more like a hiking belt or something.
That's when the Aker belt comes in. It looks just like a dress belt yet it also has a polymer liner and is quite stiff too.
Thanks again for the information. Its been a long time since Ive purchased somthing like this and my old leather basketweave belt (30yrs old) has seen too many days.

ss if you have some reading time this weekend and want to read some other opinions about carry belts checkout the link below. The topic comes up quite a bit in the Glock Talk Carry Forum.

I have good luck finding a nice ccw belt at, believe it or not, my local western suppply shop. They usually have a nice selection of thick, stiff, leather belts were stitched edges. I bought my current belt for $28. It is 1 1/2 and supports my 1911 in an IWB just fine.

Just bought a nicely finished 1-1/2" brown Kydex lined belt. $29 + Tax.
IMO, a good deal.
