View Full Version : S&W 1911sc range report.
I took my new S&W to the range today and it did pretty well. I had 1 FTF in 250 rounds. I shot a mixture of ball ammo and some +p hps. I feel pretty confident with it and I really love how the gun points so natrually. This gun is very accurate. The only thing I didn't like was that it took me 2 hours to clean. I have the stainless model and I really had to work to get all the crud off. I am kind of compulsive about cleaning my guns though.

Thanks for posting your results. I keep reading good things about the reliability of these pistols. So I just ordered a 4.25" 1911PD today! I want to send it to Gemini Customs to have it bobtailed.

The 1911Sc is an awesome piece. I shot about 100 rounds through mine a few weeks back. I was popping little clay pigeons (sitting on hay bails) like it was nothing from about 15 yards. Very accurate gun.
Very light also......perfect for carry.

I absolutely love mine. I too went crazy with the cleaning and then I watched Bill Wilson's "1911 .45 Auto - How to shoot" DVD and was surprised to see how little cleaning and elbow grease he used after a typical range session.
It's rare to hear anything negative about the 1911sc. I now have thin profile Aluma Grips on mine (I have small hands) and love the gun even more. IMHO, the 1911sc really is the best of the of the out-of-the-box 1911s for under a grand.

Shown are monogrammed thin profile Aluma Grips and a Tucker Texas Heritage IWB holster - the most comfortable, concealable IWB holster I have ever owned for a 1911.
