View Full Version : P99 Old Style Frame Rail Adaptor
Hey Gang,
I am going to order one of these rail adaptors and it sounds like no matter how many I order the shipping is a flat $20.00. Anyone else interested? I figure we can get the shipping cost per unit way down and other than a few bucks for hitting the post office + actual shipping we should be able to get them less than ordering one at a time. I'm not looking to make any cash here. I've never seen them here so unless there is a US based seller this may be about as cheap as we can get them.

And look a bit down for the rail adaptor.

My caution light is on...
Anytime you try to buy firearm parts from an overseas broker / dealer, you can run into excise tax difficulties with the Federal authorities.
That website looks suspiciously like one inhabited by Kaehny G.m.b.H. and during the Clinton ban, they openly marketed full capacity magazines to U.S. shooters that thought they had found an unthought of source of mags. The A.T.F.E. watched the magazines come into the country and then paid a visit to the purchasers at their homes, etc. The magazines and other parts such as barrels and internals were seized for lack of customs declarations, skirting of the arms control treaties with foreign governments, lack of tax payments, etc.
Before you order anything, please check with A.T.F.E., I.C.E., State, and other agencies so that you do not get yourself in a jam with the Feds. Get all opinions in writing in case of difficulty.
I only buy from U.S. dealers for this exact purpose. I lost a number of vintage firearm parts in 1982 to the Feds when trying to re-enter the U.S. from Germany.
Hey, Thanks for the tip. I’m cool with the BATF as these are not restricted parts in any way nor are they regulated as any sort of firearms part but honestly I had not thought of the tax issue and my undergrad was accounting! Since they are not considered firearms parts (not a part that is required for the firearm to function normally) I think a normal customs declaration on their part would cover it but since it’s for non-profit resale I better check that out. Order one for myself and I should be fine. Look on down and notice they are selling full frames which are firearms according to the BATF, also what has always bugged me is replacement HK barrels for the 91 to 94 that are still banned. I can have a preban HK94 but I can’t buy a new barrel for it made by HK. Wanted to pick up a spare MP5 barrel out of Germany, can’t do it even though the gun is legally owned. The best I can do is get a used one that has been around for awhile, normally police trade in’s that are stripped of their parts as you can now make more money selling a full MP5 parts kit (less receiver) than you can selling them whole.
Frames I get as one could assemble an unregistered firearm very easy.
During the ban an imported hi cap I get as it would defeat the purpose of the ten round ban. (Not saying I agree with the ban, I just find the logic of no civilian importation consistent if you can’t buy one domestically)
But a barrel? What brainiac thought that one up.
Sorry, off my soapbox now.

Off to study some tax issues, thanks buddy.
