you said 1911 so do you mean 1911 pattern, or .45? if you mean .45, that rules out the p2000 since it's not offered in .45.
i'll take a usp .45 over a 1911 every day of the week. the usp full size .45 has a 12 round capacity. it has many variants to choose from, including the lem trigger if you prefer a glock style system.
i'll take a usp compact over a 1911 too. you get the same amount of rounds in a smaller and lighter package, plus you get the choice of configuration variants.
if you move to 9mm or .357sig/.40, the p2000 comes into play with its interchangeable backstrap, ambi slide release, and it also has several variants to choose from.

Not enough info.
What do you mean USP or 1911!?..
You don't have both!!!??? ^8
ok..ok
Need a high-cap?, go for USP Expert. You can find one NIB for around ~$900 with some change back. Nice trigger, same design principle, levers, control, even grip angle as 1911.
No need for high-cap, mud lover, then a good-old 1911 would do.
Either way, you DO understand that you'll end up with both at some piont, right? ;f

well....
mhy choices were before, a 1911 or an HK...
i narrowed my next to an HK...
usp or p2000
i like the usp, but question the p2000 as well....
aiming towards a usp 9mm fullsize
1911 in my duty holster ... USPc for off d / ccw. Number of rounds capacity needs to be viewed with one's ability to hit what you are shooting at. Do you need that capacity? Bullet weight / energy transfer is also a consideration. Best suggestion: try before you buy and buy what you shoot best ... in a realistic caliber ... for some that may be .38 and for others .45+. The .40 fills a niche that I like personally, but my department does not favor the HK variants.
