Gentlemen,
I have the opportunity to purchase a new K9091 for $430.
I do not see this model listed on the Kahr web site. I emailed Kahr this AM and have received no response yet.
Is this an older model of the K9093? What is the difference between them?
Should I buy it or pass?
Thanks for any feedback.
I have a K9090 and it's ok, I can't see how a 9091 would be much different, different slide finish maybe.

Coffin Filler, I have shot a a DSC Cowboy shoot before. it been a couple of years since then. My brother is a Regulator.
Coffin Filler,
I own a K9091. I bought it slightly used back in July. It was manufactured in 1996 per Kahr (had them run the serial # for me). It is basically a K9 with the nickel finish which has been discontinued by Kahr. I'm not sure when Kahr discontinued the nickel finish. I can say that if my new T9 is any indication of current Kahr quality, I'd have to say that my 1996 nickel K9's fit and finish is much better. The workmanship on my old K9 seems much better than my new T9. The steel is even thicker in the dust cover area (underneath guide rod). See my post titled K9 & T9 side by side pic. In short, if it's in good condition I'd buy it. I suspect that the workmanship and quality of newer Kahrs, although still fine pistols, have fallen victim to the demands of mass production quotas. Here's a pic of my old K9091 (I added the wooden grips-came with stock black rubber grips)

P.S. If the finish is dull Flitz works great!

Howdy:
I'm off to the SASS convention in Vegas tomorrow. Joined SASS this time last year. Got tired shooting indoor and outdoor paper targets. Belong to The Cowboys (www.thecowboys.org) club here in SoCA. Too bad my safe isn't large enough to "capture" all my weapons! Had I known necessary CAS hardware would include two single action Colt replicas (EMF II .357/38s, EMF Win 73 .357/38, Win 1897 12 ga, Rossi StageCoach 12ga), my safe would be much larger!

Tough Guy',
I'm facing the same dilema. Two more SAAs, and a carbine and shotgun (or two). Great fun, I was just introduced to CAS this year. The uger Bisley Vaqueros I was using were a dream (highly modified in trigger and cylinder pawl operation (for reloading)...
Opps, way off topic ;Q ... out.

Hey Warmrain
No problem going OT - I started the thread and I shoved it a bit OT myself;z
Anyway, we Cowboy shooters must be a smart bunch seeing as we are into Kahr's as carry guns;f ;a ;f
I got two new Colt's and a new 73 on the way ^5 ~`c
I am one happy camper!

Coffin Filler,
My brother's alias is Stormy Rivers.
I just got off of the phone with him and he said that he knows you. He was telling me about the DSC CCW Training class. It sounds great. He wants to look at your Kahr sometime.
I've been a SASS member since the NRA convention came to Charlotte in 98. I been shooting with one of our local CAS clubs since about 97. I try to shoot a match at least once a month.(We have 14 CAS clubs here in NC. Half of them are within a 2 hr drive.) I have only shot at 3 of clubs here in NC.
My Cowboy guns are a pair Ruger Vaquero Bisleys in 45 LC, a Cimirron 1866 Yellow Carbine, and a Rossi 92 both in 45 LC, and a pair of solid frame Winchester 1897s in 12 guage. My "newest" 1897 was made in 1906. Still works great.

Howdy AZ Traveler
Yep, I know your brother - we even shot on the same posse (with his better half - Dusty Rivers) at the State Championships.
He's been using his Para LDA at the CCW class and he let me shoot it about 5 weeks ago. Nice gun and I almost went that route before deciding on the Kahr. SR is skinny enough to hide that thing in his trousers but I carry a bit more around my middle and figured the Kahr would be more comfortable for me.
I have two Great Western II's and an 1873 all in .357 for those "gamer" .38 loads. I have both a Baikal SxS and a Norinco 97. In a few weeks, I am picking up my new Colts ;f and a second 1873. The girlfriend will get the GW's and one of the 73's. When/if she gets tired of me or CAS I will have a spare set of everything. ;a
I am flying into Charlotte next week for a meeting with Lowe's up in Moorestown. Maybe one of these days I will bring along my Cowboy guns and shoot a match down your way. It sure is geting too darn cold to shoot here ;P
Shoot straight!

Coffin Filler,
I've got about 20 lbs on him and a bad back, so I agree with you about carring a Kahr.

The deal on the nickel Kahr is that its made of steel not stainless and it has a more resistant nickel finish. The older blue or black oxide finishes get rust just with wet eyes. I have had a several steel Kahrs and they work and function great.Hope that helps.
