I posted in the main forum on how well I have improved on shooting my Glock 19. I went from shooting low left and adjusting my sights way right to shooting way right. I have set my sights back to center and shot perfect 10X at 25'. This is a drastic improvement from when I first got the pistol.
I had to change my grip placement and my finger placement. I try to hold the grip as high as possible and jam the web of my hand up into the backstop of the Glock. I grip the Glock much tighter then my P7M8 and use my pinky, index and middle finger and thumb to real grasp the Glock. With my P7 I just mostly used my index and middle finger. I also noticed I never gripped the P7 as high as I could, it just fell into place. The pressure I used on the P7 was enough to compress the squeeze cocker. When I placed my finger on the trigger of the P7 I only used the tip of my finger. Now with the Glock I am having much better results with placing my finger as far on to the trigger as possible. I am almost at the crease (joint). I am also using my left hand a lot more with the Glock. I am adding a lot more pressure with my left on the Glock then I ever did on the P7. It's tuff to remember all this, but if I concentrate I shoot well. I am off to the range to get some more time and improve muscle memory.
Please offer some suggestions on your grip and finger placement. I want to know if I am heading in the right direction. It's like I am learning to shoot all over again. This happened to me when I was in the Marines. Combat shooting was much different then target shooting. They said I had to relearn and old habits were impossible to break in two weeks. 10 years with a P7M8 is a hard habit to break.
