..and I am thrilled with it!
I shot about 70 rounds with it, mixing WWB hardball and Remington 88-grain JHP's. I did have one FTRTB on about the 10th shot, and it was on a Rem. JHP. I then alternated back and forth to give it a reliablity test (70-rounds isn't enough, I know) and it performed flawlessly the rest of the way no matter if I shot quickly or deliberately.
This gun is accurate, too. It POI hits left for me so I'll have to drift the rear to bring it dead-center. The elevation is perfect out of the box. I was putting 2-3" groups together with no problem, and one group of 5-shots went into about 1 1/2". Quick-firing opened up the groups as you can imagine, but I was able to keep many of the shots in the black at 21 ft.
I'm just so pleased with this gun. I just got it new the other day and I'm using it as my BUG to my S&W Mod. 66 2 1/2". I'll continue to break it in, but I suspect this gun won't give me any more problems.

Congrats.....your just has pleased has the rest of us with our models. I'm seriously considering bumping up to the PPK/S in .380ACP for my wife over our P22! I would'nt worry to much about your FTF, it happens with HP's ! Well good look with it man. GLD1980 OUT

That FTRTB didn't faze me...I studied up enough prior to getting it that I was expecting some early breaking-in issues, anyway-until it was semi-broken in and beyond.
One problem early, none afterwards....I'm VERY pleased, and I expect that further workouts will ensure maximum reliability. The accuracy is what kind of amazed me...these things can shoot!
As it is, I have no confidence problem with it as my BUG or even primary CCW gun now.

Iam glad to hear that Now you need to find our what tha 66 is worth as You will find you PPK becomeing your main carry. I would run sone more ball and other HP See if you can find some of the Mag tec in 380 Its good on price and has always worked in mine. Then the spanish Santa Barbra or something like that. This is ball and is a little warm but PPK/S seem to like it.
Keep her Clean and well lubed and break her in . Talk to her name her and fondle often and It will respond in kind . Be so so and she will jam up on you. ;P Mine likes Ivory or bufflo horn grips and leather I considered putting Diamonds in HP's sort of rich man powerball ammo.

Michael,
I won't get rid of my Mod. 66...love it too much. I *may* get another PPK/s though....maybe the two-tone version for my next gun.
I just love these things and they sure are pretty to look at!

I have had my PPKS/SW for awhile and had a couple of FTE's then replaced all springs including mag spring with Wolff springs. Do yourself a favor and respring. No problems at all...................

Yep! Re sprung My sweetie with wolff +5% mag and a new 20 lb recoil. Since then she's been "Launch Control? --> GO LAUNCH!"
HoustonHusker.....
Quick ? for you....
I am assuming your PPK/S is a Smith and Wesson mfg.
How many magazines comes with it from the factory?
Thanks. I'm giving serious thought to getting a PPK/S myself.

hogship,
It's definitely S&W and it comes with 2 mags...one with the pinky-finger extension and one without.
I'm just tickled pink with mine....they just flat-out work and they're beautiful to hold and look at.
I want more of them, but I'll only get the S&W-made ones because it doesn't bite me like the Interarms did.
HH
Thanks HoustonHusker....
You know, I just handled one of these yesterday, and the salesman said it only came with one magazine. I'm wondering if he made a mistake, or if some of them really do have only a single mag....?
It sure is pleasing to look at....but, as others have noted, it could have been factory de-horned a little more than it is. Even so, I think it ought to shoot and carry just fine as is.
BTW: Which of the magazine versions do you prefer.....with or without the extension?

It does come with 2 mags, so don't let him put one over on you! :)
I carry mine with the no-pinky extension, and put the other one in my pocket.
I suppose Flitz or something similar could help dehorn it to a little smoother feel, but mine's just right.
I carry mine everywhere now because I'm very confident with it and I hardly even know it's there.

HH....
I doubt he was trying to put one over on me....if anything, he was just unaware there is supposed to be two mags. It was at a Sportsman's Wearhouse, so there's just too many eyes watching for any skullduggery to be going on! I guess, in a small gun shop, that sort of thing is easier to get away with.
Thanks.

edit: BTW, I have a couple of those Guru holsters. They seem like a pretty decent piece of leatherwork to me.....although that guy that makes them seems a bit "way out". If you've seen his pictures, you know what I mean!

Make sure that you get the cleaning rod in the kit, too. Mine was missing when they shipped it, and I emailed S&W about it. 5 days later they sent me one!
You hit the nail on the head about GURU...he is eccentric, but I love his Walther holster!

As far as I know they have always come with 2 Mags 1 with finger extension and 1 with out. Ive always carried mine with the extension. If I carry spare mags I carry in a nylon folding knife sheath, mine holds 2 mags I stack back slightly above front in sheath
I always recommend you buy nothing but factory mags. I never had a problem from factory unlike pro mag or God knows what you get from the junk ebay dealers. Don't try to save a few bucks buy right first time and save your self the headaches.
New flash!! Im not packing my PPK/S tonight. I got my Colt Mustang on me. Iwas shooting it earlier and when I finished cleaning I just dropped back in my pocket. But like the PPK is packing Corbon 90HP.

michael,
You're going to have to massage the Walther again...she's feeling neglected.

Its not a problem The PPK/S wins every time. Holds 1 more round and has always been #1 But do need to put in its place now and then. Can have it thinking it runs the show. Worst thing in the world is a uppity PPK/S. ;f
Congrats, PPKs are great, classic guns. The more i use mine the more i like it.

Get one, you will like it. It fits perfectly in the front pocket and was one of the most widely used service pistols in Europe.

Yes, indeed, kenshi2.....
I've had mine for a month now. So far, so good.....it's been 100% reliable, although there has only been 100rds through it to date. When the snow melts, I'll give it a real testing!

I have had mine for almost 35 years. German made PPK/S. Put several thousand rounds through it. Works like a champ. Does not like HPs. Need to be nice to the old girl and keep her well cleaned and oiled and she has never failed me.

If she don't like HP try a box of Corbon powerball thatthe HP with a snall ball in HP to make like ball. Its hot over 1200fps and 240 on ftlbs.

I recently bought a ppks and I like it very much. I would like to fix/replace the factory sights however. Does anyone know where I could get night sights from or if there is another model of night sights that work on the ppks that I could use as a substitute? The current set up could use some work for shooting in low light conditions.
