Greetings to all
I recently picked up a new G34. In my excitement at the gunshop, I filled out the usual paperwork and left without really looking the gun over real well. Now that I have it home, I notice that the front end of the dust cover portion of the polymer is slightly bowed upward and actually contacts the lower portion of the slide. I can hand cycle the gun easily and, although I haven't fired it yet, I don't think it will cause any problems. But it bothers me just to look at it. I know that this is not normal, but is it common? Any ideas on how to remedy the situation short of sending it back to GA? Do you think I could heat it with a heat gun and slightly reshape it downward. Let me hear your ideas and opinions. Thanks in advance.;Z

This is normal on the newer Glocks.

Thanks for the answer. Do you know if anyone has been successfull trying to heat and reshape? I don't want to screw it up but, like I said, it just bothers me.;Z

There are places you can send it to that can reshape the grip, and I think I saw a rounded trigger guard in magazine before. But I would not try that yourself.

Don't let it bother you, it is part of the design. Users found the weight of a light on the rails was sagging the cover down, the stronger cover solves this and as a plus I suspect it limits vertical slide play to some degree. Be happy and shoot the dang thing.

A heat and reshape is STRONGLY NOT recommended, you will trash the frame.

I like mine...

Just put a light on it - that blocks the view...

Yep mine too. Probably because the slide extends so far off the end of the receiver. It is even more pronounced on my 17L.

Congrats on the G34, my only regret is that I should have bought one sooner.
