View Full Version : Glock 18
Hello,
I'm curious to know if the design of the Glock 18 uses a controled slam-fire like the aftermarket products, or if they did it right with a delayed fuction.
Thanks.
It fires from a closed bolt, unlike Mac's and Uzi's.
What I mean is, is there a mechanism to keep the firing pin back until after the slide has locked. I'm not comparing it to a Mac or Uzi, I'm comparing it to the aftermarket products that turn a regular Glock into full-a.
The G18 function is kind of the same as the conversion parts, but done in a "better" way. Both push the cruciform bar down, but the G18 does it later, and uses a different cruciform bar with a protrusion to engage the "trip". The ripoffs are just cheaper, easier ways of doing the same thing.

They use the same principle, the aftermarket products just trip the cruciform on the other side of the gun.
EDIT:
Didn't see agalb post, he explained it better.

The operational cycle of the full auto glock vs the semi auto glock does not change, in one the trigger drops the striker, in one the slide closing on the actuator drops the striker. There is no slam fire.
Will these conversions work on other caliber glocks or just 9mm?

What do you mean by actuator? Part number?

What's involved in this? A class 3 license? Does it work well or is it a cheesy product.
Thanks,

If a Class III dealer had a request for a demo could they obtain a device? Is it not true that the select fire device can only be sold to Police and Military customers in the US?

Obviously Glock, Ruger, Colt, FN, Dillon precision, are not law enf. agencies or military, yet they have machiineguns. Why because they are license to manuf. or deal in items for sale to Law enf. and Military and other law enf. and military dealers.
